Push
‘Push’ was set on Julie and Alexander at Russell Maliphant Dance Company, around the same time it was created with Sylvie and Russell. The process allowed Russell to observe live what he had created, within another context than as the performer/choreographer of the piece, and focus in on certain details to see what was transferable and what might benefit from being ‘personalised’ for individual interpretation, drawing on the skills of these extremely talented dancers.
‘Push’ was originally produced by Sadler’s Wells in collaboration with Sylvie Guillem & Russell Maliphant and premiered on 30th September 2005.
