Aakash Odedra: Rising

Russell has choreographed a solo for Aakash Odedra, a new star of British contemporary dance, that will be performed as part of an evening of solos made for him entitled ‘Rising’.

Individual works have been specially choreographed for him by internationally renowned artists Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Akram Khan as well as Russell’s work and the evening opens with a classical Kathak variation which Aakash has choreographed himself.

Aakash Odedra’s background in Kathak and Bharatanatyam weaves through these works to create a new flavour of contemporary dance, complemented with beautiful lighting by Michael Hulls and Willy Cessa.
