SILENT LINES – Worthing Connaught Theatre

  • Worthing Connaught Theatre Worthing, England United Kingdom (map)

Silent Lines by Russell Maliphant is a work for 5 exceptional dancers – with projections used to create a fluidly shifting atmosphere using animations by video designer Panagiotis Tomaras. The sound design created by Dana Fouras passes seamlessly across musical genres from classical to electronic and the costumes have been created by designer and long term collaborator Stevie Stewart (founder of cult 1980’s renegade fashion label Bodymap).

Silent Lines uses themes from the somatic work Maliphant draws on to create an aesthetic language for the stage where movement has a shared vocabulary but is also unique and personal to each dancer.

*****
“ a brilliant exploration of human anatomy”

Morning Star, 6th November (Christine Lindy)

*****
“Silent Lines, is heralded as a deeper-than-ever exploration of the human body…
What hits you between the eyes above all from the very start, though, is how beautiful this piece is.”

Morning Star, 6th November (Christine Lindy)
